Constant learning, optimising everything and focusing on the experience of dealing with your business are three keys to business success, said Simon Reynolds in a recent webinar provided by the Fortune Institute.
Constantly learn from successful business people and courses Too many entrepreneurs do it alone, and it leads to slower growth. It’s about accessing information, and making time to put it into action.
Optimise everything This is about improving things that already exist in your business, as well as trying new things. Tiny improvements are collectively far more effective than aiming for one big step change. Simon introduced the word 'kaizen', which is a Japanese concept of ‘constant small improvements’.
Switch from focusing on what service/product you are offering customers to the experience of dealing with your business. Most of us sell the same service many others sell. That means the market becomes very competitive, and can lead to price cutting. However, people are willing to pay a lot for experiences. Consider what it feels like to deal with your business. Think about how to delight people and this will lead to repeat purchases.
Simon suggested coming up with ten things that will make people feel good about using your products or services.
